Appenzeller Spitzhauben

The Appenzeller Spitzhauben is a rare, ornamental breed that is well adapted to the cold, snowy weather of its native Switzerland.  Given the chance, it will gladly roost outside on a tree branch, even in poor weather.  The word "spitzhauben" means "pointed hoods" in German, reffering to the feathery flourish that pours from the bird's head, like a Las Vegas showgirl's headpiecePRIMARY USE: ornamental
