Rumpless Tufted Araucana

As its name implies, the Rumpless Tufted Araucana is related to the Araucana, but it is rarer and more difficult to breed.  The gene associated with its hallmark ear tufts may be lethal in certain combinations, and a significant proportion of tufted chicks never make it out of the egg.  The fowl lacks a tail and some vertebrae and this unusual anatomy can hamper fertility.
