Cochin

Cochins are docile and easy to keep. They caused a sensation, the so-called "cochin craze" in the 1880's, when this breed, with ridiculously fluffy feathers became a must-have item for fowl lovers across North America and Europe.  While most poultry at that time was kept for production, these full-feathered birds were sought for their showy appearance.
