Brahma

 

   A soft-feathered fowl, the Brahma is prized as one of the world's largest chicken breeds, earning it the moniker "King of Poultry." Vigorous and sturdy, it has also dveloped a reputation as the United States' most popular meat breed for nearly seventy years, beginning in the mid-1850s, when the breed fueled a craze both in the United States and in Britain, known as "hen fever."
