Barnevelder

 

   The Barnevelder is a heavy, soft-feathered Dutch breed kept both for show and for utilitarian purposes.  It takes its name from the Barneveld region of Holland, where it was first developed via crosses between imported Asian breeds and local fowl.  It is an alert, attractive fowl with a fine shape and calm temperament.
