New Hampshire Red

Most new chicken varieties incorporate traits from several breeds, but the New Hampshire Red was developed soloely by breeding Rhode Island Reds in an attempt to maximize the finer qualities of this original stock. As their names suggest, both breeds have a red hue. The New Hampshire's plumage exhibits several shades of red, making it easy to distinguish it from the Rhode Island Red.
