Dutch Bantam

Unlike many other bantam breeds, the Dutch Bantam doesn't have a full-sized equivalent.  It is also one of the oldest and tiniest bantam breeds, having originated in the 17th century.  The breed's ancestors arose from Indonesia's jungle fowl, and are thought to have been among the world's first domesticated chickens.  Dutch Bantams are lively, beautiful birds that never fail to turn heads at shows.
